Monday October 13th - Update

This past weekend had highs and lows.

Friday night we made the decision to take gay.com offline during prime time to fix some bugs that had been causing repeated instability within chat. While we normally schedule outages in non-peak time, we felt that the code release was important enough to justify the down time. Happily, the release significantly improved the overall chat experience for many of our users throughout the day on Saturday.

Unfortunately, there were also several unplanned outages this weekend. While none of these outages were related to the new chat code, the site was offline during prime weekend hours.

To help remedy that, we made a few more changes to the code early this morning. We will likely have several short, planned outages this week, which we will endeavor to do in off-peak hours, as we continue to improve and stabilize the site.
